The door clicks shut behind me and the apartment feels too small, like it’s pressing in from all sides. My phone is still warm in my hand from scrolling the headlines — my face, his name, our names blown up into a thousand nasty, lazy stories. I should be angry at them. Instead I’m angry at myself.
